In this growing market, it is hard for smaller companies to come and compete with the two juggernauts that currently consume much of the buyer’s money. When trying to create buzz for their new products, some of the two companies that have no problems are Apple and Samsung. Never mind the price, it is the product we obsessed with, and we’ll even stand in long lines to get it. The giant company Samsung has just released their latest edition to the Note family that hit stores on October 17th. The Galaxy Note 4 is just as pricey as it is big, but that’s not going to stop you.
Displays
The iPhone 6 Plus has differed from other iPhones in the past with Full HD 5.5 inch IPS LCD LED-backlit display, which has 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 401ppi pixel density. Samsung’s phablet Note 4 didn’t differ much in their display from their predecessor with a 5.7 inches, but a 1440 x 2560 resolution increase with 515ppi pixel density. This gives Samsung’s Note 4 the advantage of a better quality screen than Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus.
Designs
The bigger variant of iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, has aluminum ultra-thin body with rounded corners and edges, and at the bottom and top two bands. On the other hand, it is a matter of opinion on choosing between Apple’s updated design, and Note 4’s faux leather back which gives it a different style.
Hardware
The 64-bit architecture of Apple’s iPhone 6 plus has a bigger advantage over the 32-bit based chipset of Note 4. The iPhone 6 Plus is powered by Apple’s on A8 chipset dual-core Cyclone clocked at 1.4GHz, and that is coupled with PowerVR GX6450 GPU. The Note 4, on the other hand, is powered by the Exynos 5433 chipset on their quad-core processors 1.9GHz Cortex-A57 and 1.3GHz Cortex-A53. Another Note 4 variant is powered by the quad-core 2.7GHz Krait 450 processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset. Even though it runs on a 32-bit nature, it offers users a powerful and faster performance over iPhone 6 Plus.
Operating System
The iPhone 6 Plus runs on the iOS 8 and option to upgrade to iOS 8.0.2, while the Note 4 runs on their Android-based KitKat v.4.4.4. The iOS 8 offers users a slicker experience thanks in part to their applications that have been optimized for their larger screen, however Note 4 was built for multi-tasking and offers a flexible experience to users.
Memory
The iPhone 6 Plus offers three variants with 16 GB, 64GB, and 128 GB internal memory, with no option for expandable memory. The Note 4 has two variants that offer 32GB and 64GB internal memory, that offer expandable memory up to 128GB.
Battery Life
Like all of the iPhones, the iPhone 6 Plus has a non-removable 2915mAh battery. While the Galaxy Note 4 has a user replaceable huge 3220mAh battery. Samsung battery life far exceeds Apple’s latest upgrade for battery capacity.
Conclusion
Both companies have forged good reputation for delivering innovative devices. With the latest offerings from Apple, they have provided a sleeker design that ensures to prince a better experience for their users. However, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 is far superior with technology that is still ahead of the iPhone 6 Plus.
