Battlefield 3 had plenty of Easter Eggs hidden within its expansive multiplayer maps. If players took time away from the carnage in order to go exploring, they may have come across Epicenter’s “Sand Castle” and Issac Clarke’s Dead Space helmet. Curious Single Player soldiers may have found that you can in fact die if you do not kill the rat in Uprising. So far, Battlefield 4 players have found a Yeti on Golmud Railway, and have heard a dinosaur’s roar on Rogue Transmission.
A few days ago, a new Easter Egg was discovered within the Battlefield 4: Naval Strike DLC. According to a new video from YouTube gamer “jackfrags”, the Megalodon is swimming within the depths of the map Nansha Strike. If 10 players are near a buoy located on the outskirts of the map, the legendary ancient shark will spring out of the water, then dive right back in. While it would be a laughable idea, players who are in the vicinity of the Megalodon when it crashes back into the ocean will not take any damage from the impact.
Other confirmed Easter Eggs found in Battlefield 4 include “ECID Shipping” (DICE backwards), wine and champagne bottles that reference previous Battlefield-related projects, a basket of literal Easter eggs, a mock-up Mirror’s Edge commercial on a TV monitor, and a newspaper with the Battlefield 3 logo on the front page. The Battlefield 4: Naval Strike DLC is currently available on all platforms for Premium members. Due to the Xbox One and PC delays, Naval Strike’s public release has been pushed to April 15 for all platforms.
