[dropcap size=dropcap]A[/dropcap] closed beta test for the free-to-play single player only, Soulcalibur: Lost Swords was recently announced by Namco Bandai. The beta will be available for download on Playstation Network starting November 14, 2013. The 4GB installer for the game will feature three main characters such as Sigfriend, Mitsurugi or Sophitia and three game play modes: Quest, Creation and Shop. Starting next Monday, the beta test will last for a whole week, until November 18. It will also feature free tools such as the Continue Ticket or the AP Restore Medicine.
Since the official announcements, players from all around the world were eager to play with the legendary heroes featured in Soulcalibur: Lost Swords including Siegfried and Mitsurugi. The game will be free to play and will be available only in single player mode. The release date was not yet disclosed. However, we know for a fact that it will be released in 2014 for Playstation 3.
Until the present day, Namco Bandai has invested a lot of time, energy and funds in free to play games for the Playstation 3 consoles. Besides Soulcalibur: Lost Swords, the publisher also owns Ace Combat Infinity, Ridge Racer Driftopia and Tekken Revolution. All these games are free to play and available for PlayStation 3.
A while ago, during this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Namco Bandai released a new trailer for Soulcalibur: Lost Swords. In this title, the developers will introduce the players to new battle mechanics based on magic and new forging techniques. The trailer presents three of the in-game characters, Siegfried Schtauffen, Mitsurugi Heishiro and Sophitia. See the clip below:
