Announced back in November, the standalone version for the free-to-play FPS Quake Live was released by Bethesda earlier today. The game is available to download via the official Quake Live website.
The game was first revealed back in 2007 as Quake Zero, a free-to-play version of the well known shooter Quake 3. The game was later renamed to Quake Live and is free to play. There are also additional premium subscription options that give you access to additional arenas, in-game advertisement and queue bypassing and clan support.
Players who have already installed Quake Live will be able to transition rather quickly via a launcher that will update the existing installation files.
