Bethesda’s PR agency leaks Fallout 4 details

by Archive

The fourth edition of Bethesda’s Fallout is rumored to get launched in early ’14. After IGN announced in July that it’s being developed, people all round the world are desperately waiting for its arrival. The interesting part is that the marketing/PR department has given us a little sneak into the details of the game.

This news was posted on Reddit, the poster saying that one of his friends in the PR department revealed it to him! Just because it was posted on Reddit doesn’t mean we have to believe it, obviously. But it did get over 500 positive replies so it might not be too far out.

According to the rumor, the game is set in Boston and it is said that it is a direct sequel of Fallout 3. Boston will be developed using a retro-futuristic approach. It might resemble downtown DC or even New Vegas. Here Androids will play a major part, much more than Fallout 3.

The system used for leveling up is similar to Bethesda’s Skyrim where your skills level up if you perform certain tasks, but apart from that they are going to change everything about the game after the critique they received for loads of similarities between Oblivion and Fallout 3.

The post also went on to say that the developers are planning to introduce a new race and have decided to cast out Super Mutants and Brotherhood of Steel, after being criticized for overusing them in previous versions.

The new race will be under the influence of Lovecraftian fiction and Boston will be a “Lovecraft Country”. There is also a hint that the Railroad from previous parts forces their enemies, the Plantation, to do farming and harvest food for the Humans.

Again, this rumor must not be necessarily taken seriously as it is not concrete. The only credible information was provided by IGN that it is going to be launched soon. But the people at Bethesda haven’t officially agreed that they have been working on it!
