Remember back when Gamescom 2014 gave us tons of new gameplay for Bloodborne? Well, Tokyo Game Show 2014 seems to be doing the same thing. We’ve been blessed with 12 minutes of new Bloodborne gameplay, showcasing new weapons and tons of combat. Check it out.

There’s not a whole lot of gameplay to actually analyse apart from the weapons and combat, so let’s get started.
The first new weapon we see is a sword-hammer. That’s right, a sword-hammer. In one form you wield a massive hammer, heavily swinging it about, crashing into opponents cutting off huge chunks of health. Hit the transform button, and the head of the hammer is left on your back, while the handle turns into a smooth looking sword. In this mode, the sword delivers swift, fluid, deadly blows, taking off bits of damage, but using less stamina. It also looks a lot more stylish whilst darting in and out of combat. I really hope we see more combinations like this, combining two completely different weapon classes into one. Not only would this make playing the game with your favourite weapon/s more enjoyable, but I can’t wait to see the PVP possibilities. What’s next? A dagger-gun? Sword-fist? The possibilities are endless, and I hope FROM Software takes advantage of this.
During the combat, I couldn’t help but notice how hard the enemies hit, one hit and literally half of your health is lost. So you’d better be careful when fighting massive mobs. Bullets do barely any damage, so spamming them won’t help you at all. They’re also quite scarce, so savour the bullets while you have them.
A sort of Molotov cocktail is shown during combat too, which is reminiscent of firebombs from the Dark Souls series, creating a large fiery explosion engulfing enemies.
The level design is similar to what we’ve already seen, but that doesn’t make it look any less beautiful. The game is dripping with atmosphere, from the cobbled streets to the tall Gothic spires. Here’s hoping more footage emerges from this years TGS.
