Developed by Spiders Studio, Bound by Flame is an action-RPG set in a dark fantasy universe that aims to deliver a fine-tuned RPG gameplay experience. The game will revolve around a character, who can be either male of female, named Vulcan. A mercenary and explosive expert, Vulcan is later possessed by a powerful fire demon, while fighting in the war against the undead.
The enemies in the game will be powerful as the developers aim is to deliver a unique fighting experience. Even though players will be able to charge into a fight, their best bet would be to sneak, place booby traps and then fireball their enemies to pieces. Walid, producer at Spiders Studio, mentioned in a recent post to the PlayStation Official Blog that Bound by Flame “isn’t an infiltration game,” but the players should think before acting, as they’ve “made the fights hard and demanding.”
Players will be able to set their weapons to flames.
The action-RPG will also feature an extensive variety of weaponry. Those who like to take their enemies in a hand-to-hand battle would have the chance to pick massive weapons, such as hammers, swords and axes. Others, who enjoy a more stealth game may arm themselves with two daggers in a more damage-per-second based fighting style. With the ability of dodging attacks and an in-depth equipment upgrade and customization system, players will be able to dive into the story of Bound By Flame in the style they are most comfortable with.
The AI of the enemies will be complex, each foe having unique attacks and abilities.
The developers at Spiders Studio have not only worked on delivering the feel that the player “could build the armor and the weapons,” that they would want to “wear and use,” but also on a complex AI system. According to Walid, every enemy will have specific attacks and even the basic ones can be a hassle. Companions will also be available in Bound By Flame, but the game is not expected to have a multiplayer or a co-op mode.

Even though Bound By Flame was expected to be released in the first quarter of 2014, the developers at Spiders Studio said that players will be able to enjoy the game later in the second quarter of the year. The game will be available for the PC, the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 360, as no plans for a Xbox One release have been mentioned at that time.
