Although Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack were one of the most highly anticipated titles for the new PlayStation console, the games did not manage to come even close to the success of Call of Duty Ghosts. Owners of the new PlayStation 4 have been vigorously updating their PS3 CoD to the PS4 and buying new copies, making it the best-selling game in the PlayStation Network for the month of November.
One of the predecessors of Ghosts – CoD: Black Ops II has taken the Gold Prize at the PlayStation 2013 awards earlier this month and with Ghosts being a top-seller for November, Call of Duty proves to be one of the best-selling franchises for the console. Sony has officially announced the PSN Store Top Sellers earlier in their official blog.
The top selling titles for the PS4 are divided into two categories as PS4 owners who have already bought the PS3 titles are able to upgrade them digitally to their new console (if they are available) for just $10. Call of Duty Ghosts is the top franchise in the digital upgrade category and although it is 6th in the PS4 (without digital upgrades) category, it still dominates the charts as it is also the best-selling title for the PS3.
Moreover in the category PS3 Add-Ons we can see that the first two places are taken by Call of Duty Black Ops II Apocalypse add-on and the Call of Duty Ghosts Season Pass.
Moreover, Treyarch has released a new update for the Wii U version of the game, upgrading the player experience as a whole by removing some glitches and bugs and adding new elements to the game. The really major update which came a bit unexpected is clearly showing that developers want Call of Duty Ghosts to take over the Wii U console gaming platform as well.
Call of Duty Ghosts is clearly dominating the PlayStation world and it is set for a conquest of all gaming platforms. With the major update for the Wii U and having released a bundle with the Xbox One, it is certain that the game is looking for recognition. And it is starting to receive it in the PSN world, by dominating the top-selling charts for the PS3 and PS4 in November. Call of Duty Ghosts definitely wants to rule the gaming world as a whole. Will it succeed or not? – Everything lies in the hands of the player.
