Run your weapons China because Call of Duty Online has “tens of millions” of you in sight
From today players in China will be able to take part in the public Beta of Activision and Tencents free-to-play take on the world-famous franchise, Call of Duty Online. The game was originally announced back in 2012.
The game was developed by Raven Software, who have also worked on five other games in the series including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It’s inspired by both the Modern Warfare and Black Ops games and along with allowing players to buy or rent equipment with real world money, Call of Duty Online includes a Single Player mode called Hero Ops, as well as a co-op survival mode. Call of Duty Online also has a PVE Cyborgs mode which will be exclusive to Call of Duty Online.
According to Activisions CEO Eric Hirshberg “We’ve worked closely with our partner at Tencent, and we’ve challenged one of our most trusted and talented development teams of Raven Software to create a true Call of Duty experience tailored for the Chinese market” and that “Throughout testing, the community feedback has been tremendous. We couldn’t be more excited and we look forward to winning the hearts and minds of a new community in China“.
From today Chinese players will be able to take part in the public Beta of Call of Duty Online, which is a free-to-play spin-off of the world-famous Call of Duty franchise.
