[dropcap size=dropcap]U[/dropcap].S. video game publisher Activision Blizzard announced on Wednesday that their last game, “Call of Duty: Ghosts” has been sold in its first day in copies worth more than 1 billion dollars.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that all these copies reached to end-users, but instead, that all the specialized stores from all around the world anticipated a great demand and filled their shelves with Call of Duty Ghosts DVDs. However, the sales exceeded the producer’s expectations and the numbers are here to confirm it.

Activision Blizzard does not offer figures about the number of copies that were actually purchased by end consumers. If we look at the previous title’s numbers, we know that Call of Duty Black Ops II needed more than two weeks back in 2012 in order to reach the milestone of 1 billion dollars. In terms of sales therefore, Ghosts seems to be the best title of the franchise.

The war franchise “Call of Duty”, whose first game was released ten years ago, is one of the top and most renowned products of Activision Blizzard. Call of Duty: Ghosts was released this Tuesday at midnight. The game was developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and it is published by Activision.

Call of Duty Ghosts features new game modes, new dynamic maps and a new and exciting Create-a-Soldier system. Each user will be able to create and customize up to 10 playable characters, each with their own characteristics and appearance. There will be over 20,000 possible combinations of heads, bodies or equipment. Each of these ten characters will have their own development system. The game will also feature a new game mode called “Squads” where players will be able to choose single-player missions with AI controlled comrades or co-op missions with up to 5 other friends.
