Candy Crush Saga is a game created by the company, King, to be played on web and mobile platforms. This is a “switcher” style game where a player matches like candies (of three or more) to gain points, and defeat the various obstacles and booby traps the game has in store. With special striped and wrapped candies, and color bombs, and by keeping a few tips in mind, you’ll be crushing steadily through the 500+ fun-filled game levels.

TIPS TO KEEP YOU CRUSHING THROUGH HIGHER LEVELS

√ Striped and wrapped candies are made by making 4-candy matches. Depending on the direction of their stripes, the striped candies will clear either a vertical or horizontal row.

Wrapped candy is made by making a “T” shaped match.

Color bombs (the little candy colored sprinkle ones) are made by making 5-candy matches and when matched with a candy of any color, will destroy all candies matching that color.

***Combine these special candies for a special WOW factor.***

√ Focus on creating candy patterns that yield the striped candies or color bombs. Candies will clear in matches of 3 or more, but that may not get you through some of the obstacles at the higher levels. Depending on the obstacles on your board, you may need the striped candies to clear entire rows, bring down fruit, or reach areas that are inaccessible.

√ Earn your stripes. Vertically striped candies are made by making a 4-candy match up or down while horizontally striped candies are made by making a 4-candy match right or left. When you have obstacles that are difficult to clear, or inaccessible, having the right candy can mean success or failure on any level.

√ Make a game plan at the start of a level. Pay attention to what the task is, like scoring a certain number of points, clear the jelly, or bring down the fruit. How you proceed from the beginning may be determined by the goal of the game. It’s frustrating to complete the obstacles only to realize you haven’t earned enough points to progress, or vice versa.

√ Chocolate is evil. Chocolate will grow and spread, and take over the board if you don’t destroy it quickly. Each time you destroy a piece of chocolate on a move, it will not grow the next move. So, make it your goal to destroy one or more pieces each move until it’s gone.

√ Play on both Facebook and your iPhone and you’ll have twice as many lives. The progress of the games synchronizes, but your get 5 lives to start on each. Also, check your “mail” on your iPhone for lives that may have been sent from friends, and you will be able to play on while waiting for your lives to refill.

√ Make matches from the bottom up when possible. This creates a waterfall effect where blocks fall and may make additional striped and wrapped candies and color bombs to help you win.

Above all, don’t get frustrated and give up! Stepping away from the game for a while seems to make game play more in the player’s favor. Happy crushing!
