The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past are some of the most beloved games ever created. Gamers consider them as some of the greatest games of all-time, praising them for their innovation, sense of exploration and discovery, and groundbreaking approach to video games. We have seen a wide variety of fan-made trailers and demos, over the last few years, for remakes of some of the classic Zelda titles, but not as ambitious or as promising as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2D.
Blending in the art style of A Link to the Past and its 2D top-down perspective, OoT 2D is being created from the ground up without using any pre-existing game engines. In other words, it is being made from scratch. Constant progress is being made on the game daily, with the developers adding new elements in their build every single day. If this remake interests you in any way, a demo is available on the game’s official website, which you can download right here.
The developers have also released a few videos on their YouTube pages showing off how the game actually runs. Check them out.
