Atlus U.S.A., Inc has announced on Twitter that Citizens of Earth is getting delayed till January 20th
After jumping in to save Citizens of Earth after it failed its kickstarter, Atlus U.S.A., Inc’s Twitter account has revealed that the games release date has been pushed back to January 20th. The game will be available for the 3DS, Wii U, Steam, PSVita and the PS4 and it will cost $14.99/€11.99.
Citizens of Earth is a Earthbound-inspired RPG where you play as the recently elected Vice President of the World, who has returned to his rural home town to relaxed and enjoy some coffee. Unfortunately your plans are ruined after you stumble onto a series of oddities which lead up to naturally conclude that something is happening. In order to figure out what’s going on you’ll need to left your humble little town and travel to forests, deserts, cities, a retirement home and more, and your going to need the help of your local constituents.
In Citizens of Earth there is no such thing as NPC’s because every single towns person in the game can be recruited to fight for you, meaning you can recruit over 40 characters. Each person you recruit can be leveled up and they all have their own fighting style and combat abilities, as well as a daily job that can be leveled up to benefit you such as selling better goods to your party, altering the weather (somehow) and piloting vehicles for example.
While the game may be inspired by old school RPG’s Citizens of Earths combat design certainly isn’t. Instead of having a long list of abilities with some that grow useless as the game goes on, each of the games playable characters instead have their own set of abilities that start off useful and only grow better as you level up. Instead of mana, your characters instead use power and some of your abilities either use Power or help you gain more so combat will be based are juggling your need for more power and your want for spamming powerful power draining moves.
Atlus has announced on theirAtlus U.S.A., Inc Twitter account that Citizens of Earth is going to be delayed till January 2015. The game will be available for the 3DS, Wii U, Steam, PSVita and the PS4.
