Close Castle is an upcoming RTS game created by Asher Vollmer. However, unlike most RTS games, matches in Close Castles are only a few minutes in length. The game focuses on simple controls and fast gameplay sessions. Each game will average around three minutes. The game will still retain strategic elements, albeit at a faster pace. In a nice throwback to older games of the 1990s, Close Castles is built around local multiplayer. Combined with the strategy and speed of the game, local multiplayer is likely to get pretty intense with the person you’re playing with.
‘The premise of Close Castles is simple: You and your greatest rival have built your castles WAY too close to each other. Your job is to build up your kingdom (despite the cramped quarters) while simultaneously sending out your loyal citizens to tear down the enemy’s vulnerable castle.’
Asher also announced that he has teamed up with artist Dominique Ferland to create the games artistic look and feel. The end results are some incredibly cute sprites. For more information on Close Castles, you can check out the official website.
Close Castles will be releasing on consoles some time in 2015.
