Many users who preloaded Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One have been forced to redownload the 40GB+ game today after the preloaded version wouldn’t install properly.
On the Microsoft side, the installation issue has effected both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the game, and though Microsoft has claimed to have fixed the problem where the installer would freeze at 1 or 2 percent, they have advised those still having trouble to delete the game and redownload it:
“We’ve received reports that some users are having issues getting their pre-ordered copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. We’re happy to say that our team has fixed the problem, but if you are still experiencing any issues, delete the game and re-download it. Thanks for your patience while we got this issue worked out. Have fun!”
As for Playstation, they don’t even claim to have a fix for those who spent their bandwidth preloading, and also advise that those having problems completely delete their preload and redownload the game, with instructions up on the Playstation support page:
If you pre-loaded CoD: AW you must delete all pre-load files from your system and re-download all Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare content.
Please ensure you download all available updates for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and your system is running the latest system software.
Quite an interesting start for one of the most anticipated games of the year.
