If the reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare hasn’t already convinced you, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg has a few words to seal the deal. The trailer already shows the graphical capabilities of the upcoming game and this highlights the next gen focus of Sledgehammer Games’ development of Advanced Warfare. During Activision’s recent earnings call, Eric Hirshberg touched upon the increase in “visual and graphical fidelity and polish.”
“[Advanced Warfare] is our first true next-gen – pure next-gen development where we have access to the new hardware throughout the development process, unlike Ghosts which was cross gen.”
“It’s allowed more time for experimentation, creativity, and iteration in the development process, that lead to things like us adding some of the first new mechanics and core gameplay in the franchise in a long time – things like boost jump, and EXO strength, and new melee mechanics which we’ve also had time to test with our players to make sure that they resonate and will create a compelling and balanced gameplay.”
Hirshberg definitely seems confident that this game will be exemplary in its use of next gen technology and it will create the most unique Call of Duty experience thus far. He also hopes that Kevin Spacey’s performance in the game will reach an “iconic” status.
Initially, Sledgehammer Games called Advanced Warfare (which at the time was unannounced) the most “ambitious” and “creative” Call of Duty game yet, and what we know so far might agree with this. Future technology, EXO suits that enhance abilities, photo-realistic world and blockbuster set pieces. We can’t wait to see more of this game down the line. Advanced Warfare will hit Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 4 2014.
