The newest DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts just got announced, entitled ‘Invasion’. Coming first to Xbox Live on June 3 2014, players will have access to 4 more multiplayer maps, each with some very interesting secrets within. This is the 3rd DLC expansion coming to Ghosts, with the previous 2 being named ‘Onslaught’ and ‘Devastation’.
‘Pharoah’ is set in Egypt, around several pyramids and sandy lanes. ‘Departed’ takes place during a festival and the trailer reveals a new costume and set of weapons wielded by one of the multiplayer characters. ‘Mutiny’ has you running around a pirate ship on a dark night, with the ability to summon actual ghosts to kill your enemies. Finally, the fan favorite ‘Favela’ returns from Modern Warfare 2, bringing with it the famous killstreak: AC-130. Whereas in previous DLC packs, maps such as Ignition and Unearthed were remakes of the maps Scrapyard and Dome respectively, Favela remains unchanged. There might be some new additions and destructible elements based on Ghosts’ gameplay, however.
The DLC will also add Extinction Episode 3: Awakening. This episode is set deep within an alien hive, with even more alien creatures to fight including a formidable winged alien. This episode will also reveal more about the ongoing story that began with episode one: Nightfall, from the Onslaught DLC pack. You can pick up this DLC for $14.99 when it drops next Tuesday.
