Comparing the Galaxies (Neo and Core Advance)

by GH Staff

Even if you are a Samsung fan and monitor the news regarding this company quite frequently, you still might have missed the announcement of a new Galaxy Grand Neo phone. Not surprising, considering that Samsung was rather silent on the matter and did not bother to pur a proper announcement prior to its release. If you look closely at the specs of this device, you may understand why that was the case. This particular smartphone is generally weaker than the Galaxy Grand one, which was released last year. It has a 5 inch display with a rather low pixel density, but that should not pose a serious problem because of its quad core processor, a 5 Mega pixels camera with a LED flash.

The newly released Galaxy Core Advance is positioned as a medium range phone and is aimed at those people who wish to have a reasonable device, but are tight on the financial side. Just as the name suggests, it is a next evolution of previously released Galaxy Core. In order to draw a better picture, let us compare the two Samsung devices side by side.

Functions and interface

Grand Neo

This handset is being powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean together with TouchWiz UX. There was no news in reagrds to it possibly switching to a newer KitKat OS. This, howver, does provide a unique look to it. This technology also enables transparent bars and full screen wallpaper. Its TocuhWiz user interface also enables such features as Multi window mode and Smart Stay. However, some higher end options like Air View and Air gesture are not possible to realize on this device. Some people may also have trouble with typing on such a big screen, especially if you are only using one hand to type. There is a swipe function that can help you find the word you are looking for.

Core advance

This one also uses the 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. It also comes with a number of pre-installed apps such as S Translator, S Voice, and easy mode and so on. It also has a variety of accessibility apps installed on it.

It is equipped with a 2100 mAh battery, which the company claims can support up to 8 hours of video browsing or about ten hours’ worth of internet browsing or eleven hours of talking (using 3G). These statistics sure seem impressive.

It is coupled with a 1GB RAM which also makes the whole process of using the phone as smooth as possible. It also has 8GB of internal memory, which can also be expanded.
