The early spring release of the Galaxy S5 was a popular purchase. While the release of the Oppo N3 has been a great improvement over their N1 variant. So in deciding the best lets compare.

Dimensions, Designs, and Displays

Samsung caused quite a stir when they introduced the Galaxy S5’s perforated back design. However, some fans didn’t take to the new design, but the matte effect body makes its more stylish than other glossy designs. While the design of the Oppo N3 is plastic, bulky, and made of an aluminum frame that is industry-grade. However, it does have a motorized swivel camera that is much like the rotating camera on the N1.

The Galaxy S5 has Super AMOLED 5.1 inch display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, and 432 ppi pixel density. Protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 its measures 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm, and weighs only 145 grams. The S5 is outfitted with a fingerprint sensor that aids in making payments online and locking your phone. Additionally, your phone is more protected from water and dust. The Oppo N3 also has a fingerprint sensor and is outfitted a TFT 5.5 inch display with the same resolution, but 401 ppi pixel density. Weighing 192 grams, it is much heavier and has dimensions of 161.2 x 77 x 8.7 mm.

OS and Hardware

Each smartphone has a quad-core Krait 400 processor but the S5 has speeds of 2.5GHz, and the N3 clocks at 2.32GHz. The same Adreno 330 GPU for their graphics and RAM capacity of 2GB. The S5 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974Ac, while the N3 uses the same chipset but MSM8974AA.

Each device is able to support expandable memory up to 128GB with microSD card slots. However, the Galaxy S5 offers a 16GB and 32GB, while the Oppo N3 only offers a 32GB variant.

Both devices run own Android KitKat v4.4.2, and each uses their own UI. The N3 uses the Color OS 2.0, and the S5 uses their TouchWiz.

Camera

The Galaxy S5 provides one of the best cameras on the market, and the Oppo N3 is not far behind with their motorized rotating lenses. Their back cameras are 16MP and feature HDR, autofocus, and LED flash. While the N3 provides 4K video recording capabilities and a Bluetooth remote control O-Click that has a shutter trigger.

Battery

A 2800 mAH battery is found on the S5, but the Oppo N3 uses a bigger 3000 mAH battery. More importantly they both have a removable battery which is good for replacing in the future.

Additional Benefits

The Oppo N3 supports a micro-SIM, nano-SIM, and dual-SIM cards. The Galaxy S4 provides support for the micro-SIm and Infrared port. Both provide support for 4G LTE and NFC support.

The Oppo N3 also comes with a turbo charge feature for their battery that only takes 30 minutes for 75% capacity.

Price

The Galaxy S5 can be priced at $599, and the Oppo N3 can be found for $649.
