I’m pretty sure that just about everyone has heard of Amazon, but not many of know that Amazon has released their own smartphone. The Amazon Fire Phone is the Amazon’s newest device, and we decided to pit it against the Samsung Galaxy S5. While by now we should be aware of the specs of the Galaxy S5, let’s see what is going on with the Fire Phone.
Layout
The dimensions of the Fire Phone includes a weight of 160 grams and measurements of 139.2 x 66.5 x 8.9 mm. Looking at the Galaxy S5, the Samsung device is much lighter at 145 grams and is slimmer at measurements of 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm.
Display
With their Super AMOLED 5.1 inch screen, the Galaxy S5 has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and a 432 ppi pixel density. Compared to the Amazon Fire that has a smaller HD LCD 4.7 inch screen. It also has a smaller pixel density at 315 ppi, with 1280 x 720 resolution.
Hardware
The Galaxy S5 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that clocks at 2.5GHz and the RAM capacity of 2GB. It also has an internal storage of both 16GB and 32GB. The Fire Phone uses a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor also, however it clocks at 2.2GHz. It has similar specs as the Galaxy S5 and provides internal storage of 32GB. The Amazon Fire Phone does not support expandable memory; however the Galaxy S5 does.
Camera
The 16MP back camera of the Galaxy S5 is capable of recording videos of 2160p@30fps. The 2.1 MP front camera is outfitted on the Galaxy S5. The competitor has a back 13 MP camera and a 2.1MP front camera. Its features include recording 1080p@30fps HD videos.
Battery
A 2800mAh battery powers the Galaxy S5 in which lasts for a long time when listening to music, browsing the internet and doing just about anything on the phone, without worrying about the battery. The Fire Phone provides a 2400mAH battery that is weaker, and while it is good, doesn’t live up to the Galaxy S5 power.
Price
The Fire Phone and the Galaxy S5 is available on Amazon for $550 and $505.
