Nokia can be considered a fairly new entrant to the smartphone market. Two of the latest smartphones to be launched by the company are the Nokia X and the Nokia XL.

Both these devices were launched in February 204 and have the dual SIM facility. The Nokia XL is larger and heavier than the Nokia X. The Nokia XL weighs 190 grams while the Nokia X weighs 128.7 grams. In terms of physical dimensions, the Nokia XL measures 141.4 mm by 77.7 mm by 10.9 mm while the Nokia X measures 115.5 mm by 63 mm by 10.4 mm.

Screens of both the devices are equipped with a light and a proximity sensor. Both smartphones feature an IPS LCD display with a 16 million color support and a resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. The Nokia X has a better pixel density of 233 ppi as compared to the density of the Nokia XL of 187 ppi. The screen size of Nokia X is 4 inches while that of Nokia XL is 5 inches. This essentially means that the Nokia X, despite having a smaller display, provides for better display quality.

In terms of camera specifications, the Nokia XL has a 5 MP rear camera while the Nokia X has a 3 MP rear camera. While the Nokia XL also has a 2 MP front camera, the Nokia X is devoid of one. The apertures of both rear cameras are the same but the focal length of the Nokia X is larger. It is also worth mentioning that the Nokia X features fixed focus while the Nokia XL features an autofocus lens. As far as camera configurationsgo, the Nokia XL scores better than the Nokia X.

Both the Nokia XL and the Nokia X feature a dual core processor provided by Qualcomm of the Snapdragon series of chips. The processors clock in at 1 GHz and also have an Adreno chip for graphicsprocessing. Both the smartphones have a storage capacity of 4 gigabytes, which can be expanded with an external micro SD card up to 32 gigabytes. The RAM of the Nokia XL is 768 megabytes while that of the Nokia X is 512 megabytes. Both the smartphones also feature an accelerometer and a proximity sensor.

These smartphones from Nokia do not run on Windows OS as other common models, but are based on the Android Jellybean OS. The browsers of the phones do not have flash support but java support is provided.

The smartphones stand equally matched when it comes to hardware and software specifications. The system memory provided by both the phones is far lesser than that provided by other smartphones today.

The Nokia XL and the Nokia X both feature Lithium ion batteries which are removable. The Nokia XL has a larger battery capacity of 2000 mAh and offers more talk time and standby time than the Nokia X which features a 1500 mAh battery. These smartphones feature very subtle differences and a choice between the two seems to be rather difficult to make, however for those not too fussy, the Nokia X should do just fine.
