Constantin Films Resident Evil spin-off TV series will start after the next feature film
IGN and Variety have reported that the German production house Constantin Films will be making a Resident Evil spin-off TV series, which according to Variety “would become a TV series after the next feature film“.
Besides the news that it will happen after the next and last feature film Variety hasn’t released any more information about the show yet. The final Resident Evil movie isn’t scheduled to be released till 2016. Despite the fact that filming first started back in 2013, although filming was later delayed due to series star Milla Jovovich getting pregnant with her second child. While we don’t know anything about the cast for the show yet, there is a chance that there will be some cross-over since Constantin Films are also in charge of the films.
Besides the news of the Resident Evil spin-off TV series, Variety also reported that Constantin Films will be producing a Mortal Instrument TV series since they do own the rights to the book series. The show will start production next year and Ed Decter (Unforgettable, The Client List and In Plain Sight) will also be involved according to “unconfirmed reports“.
