Some good news for fans of both anime and Wii U gaming has arisen thanks to the arrival of the Crunchyroll app for the Nintendo Wii U (for those unfamiliar with Crunchyroll, it is an immensely popular anime streaming service).
In all honesty, the addition of the Crunchyroll app for Wii U seems to be something that should have been implemented sooner, due to the fact that it has a dedicated television button and is heavily marketed towards the Japanese demographic. However, as the saying goes: Better late than never.

Crunchyroll Comes to the Wii U
The following comes from the official forum post announcing the arrival of Crunchyroll on the Wii U:
“Hey everyone! It’s been crazy year here at Crunchyroll, but we’re not quite done yet!
We know that a lot of people have been asking, and just in time for the holidays, we present the Crunchyroll app for WiiU! (How many of you guys noticed the updated image on the devices page? ;))
The app can now be downloaded in the Americas, with worldwide availability, as supported by the Nintendo eShop, coming early 2015. The app will be localized in all of the languages that Crunchyroll currently supports! (If you don’t see the app in your eShop, it may not be available in your area yet, but please let us know.) Premium users can access the app right away! If you aren’t a Premium Member yet, there are sample clips available for you to enjoy, or you can sign up for a free trial and experience all the Crunchyroll app on WiiU has to offer! “
As seen in the quote above, there is a free 2-week (14 day) trial if you’re interested in trying the anime streaming service out. Here’s the link. As usual, you’ll have to provide information in order to sign up. So keep that in mind.
