Cult of the Lamb is changing how its Steam achievements are displayed and giving players another timed Halloween event. In a Steam announcement from developer Massive Monster published on October 19, 2026, the studio confirmed that the Woolhaven DLC achievements are now separate from the base game achievements and that the Blood Moon Festival runs from October 24 through November 10.
The achievement split is the most concrete change for players who track completion. Steam recently implemented a system to separate DLC achievements from base game achievements, and Cult of the Lamb has applied that system to the Woolhaven DLC. Players should see the two groups listed separately.
Woolhaven DLC Achievements Now Track Separately From the Base Game
In the Steam achievement view, the base game achievements now appear on their own, separate from the Woolhaven DLC list. Players who do not own Woolhaven no longer see the DLC’s achievements inside the base game count, so a base game clear is not hidden behind paid DLC goals.
DLC owners can still read both lists. Progress and achievements stay intact; Steam only changes how the lists are displayed.
Blood Moon Festival Runs October 24 Through November 10
The Blood Moon Festival is an in-game timed event that runs from October 24 through November 10. Players must first make sure their system date and time settings are correct, then perform the Blood Moon Ritual to start the event.
The event reads the player’s system clock; if it is wrong, the ritual may not appear. Once the Blood Moon Ritual is complete, ghosts linger around the player’s base for 3 days. Those ghosts are the event’s core activity, and catching them grants rewards. The rewards are split into follower forms and decorations.
- Follower Forms: Cursed Crow, Vampiric Demon, or Skeletal Deer.
- Decorations: Blood Moon Candle, Blood Moon Skull, Blood Moon Tree, or Blood Moon Pumpkin.
If a player has already unlocked all of those items, catching ghosts instead grants 3 Divine Inspiration points, which keeps ghost catches useful after the collection is complete.
Other Halloween events run on the same calendar. You can read about Vampire Survivors’ Bloodmoon expansion and Deep Rock Galactic’s Hoxxes Halloween event for more updates.
What to Do and What the Timing Leaves Open
The confirmed steps are:
- Check the system date and time settings are correct.
- Perform the Blood Moon Ritual.
- Catch ghosts around the base for 3 days.
- Unlock the follower forms and decorations from the reward lists.
- If all rewards are already unlocked, collect 3 Divine Inspiration points per catch.
Because the festival ends November 10 and the ghost window lasts 3 days after the ritual, players who want a full three days of ghost catching inside the event period should trigger the Blood Moon Ritual by November 7. Massive Monster did not state that cutoff; it follows from the published dates. A player who starts later can still catch ghosts, but the final day may fall after the event has ended.
The announcement leaves the drop rates, spawn frequency, spawn locations, and drop order for the follower forms and decorations unstated. It provides the full reward list and the Divine Inspiration fallback, but it does not say whether each catch guarantees a new item or how many ghosts appear per day.
