After being featured on the show Shark Tank, Egos Ventures’ Cycloramic app sits on top of iTunes. The app takes a panoramic photo handsfree. The application uses the built-in motors on an iPhone to spin the phone while taking the photo.
On the show, it was obvious that the “sharks” were impressed with the application. The application helped the company secure $500,000 in investment in fact.
Aside from securing that investment, the appearance on the show also resulted in downloads of more than 100,000 an hour at its peak. Today, the app has been downloaded more than 8 million times.
The company’s other apps, the Pro version of Cycloramic and Selfie360, have also made leaps and bounds to the top of the iTunes leaderboard.
