[dropcap size=dropcap]A[/dropcap] few months ago, AllGamesBeta published a video clip featuring a short gameplay sequence from the upcoming Dark Souls 2, thus revealing a new boss – The Mirror Knight. Unfortunately, we had to deal with footage taken by an amateur, enough however to get an idea about what surprises the second game of the series has in stores for us.
Dark Souls 2 is being developed by the same team that put together the first game of the series. The new installment however, will feature a new main character and a new multiplayer mode. At the same time, the developers have confirmed that they are working on the difficulty level of the game which will be hopefully more playable than Dark Souls. I am sure that despite the inhuman difficulty of the first game, there are plenty of fans who are waiting with enthusiasm for the Dark Soul 2 release. For them, we have a brand new information about the future of the series: Dark Souls 2 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be in stores starting March, next year.
What do we know about Dark Soul 2? Oh, well, we know that it will be more accessible. The concept however has one meaning for an experienced gamer and completely other for a beginner. We know that From Software intends to create a difficult game, maybe more difficult than the previous installment. It will be however more accessible as the players will not have to spend days and weeks online reading wiki files in order to know what to do next. The developers have promised that they will try to explain better the game itself, the tactics and its mechanics, the things you need in order to enjoy it in a non-masochistic way.
Moreover, players will not be required to play the first game in order to understand the story or the characters from Dark Soul 2. The game will take place in the same universe but in other place and another timeframe.
But let’s ask the question we should have asked from the beginning: Will the game be as annoying as the first one? The answer is, probably not, if the members of the development team understand the word accessibility. We will have an equal number of enemies that will keep respawning in front of us but still, rumor has it that in Dark Soul 2, the fights will be more interesting, as the AI will be more unpredictable than in Dark Soul.
In conclusion, whether you like it or not, Dark Souls 2 is on its way. It will arrive in March on consoles and few weeks later on the PC. Meanwhile, we will wait for some new information and hopefully, e beta release.
