The video game industry is no stranger to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, with the likes of Xbox’s Phil Spencer, EA’s Andrew Wilson, Markus “Notch” Persson, and Cliff Bleszinski among the willing participants.
For those who have been living under a rock the past few weeks, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is a way to raise awareness about ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and consists of people nominating other people to either dump a bucket of ice-cold water on themselves, or donate to the ALS Association (if you’re nominated, you should really donate even if you do take the frigid way out).
Well, the phenomenon has finally reached its Destiny (I apologize). The infamous Ghost from Bungie’s upcoming Destiny has now accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and has nominated The Last of Us’ Joel, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s Jonathan Irons, and last, but definitely not least, George Lucas to do the same. The video is aptly named, “The Bucket That Came From The Moon.”

Destiny’s Ghost Takes The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
The developers of the free-to-play third-person shooter, Warframe, were the people originally responsible for nominating the highly-anticipated Destiny. It will be interesting to see how Naughty Dog and Sledgehammer Games respond to the challenge. Will they dump water on the nominated character’s respective voice actors, or create an in-game video similar to the one above?
Additionally, Bungie will donate 20% of sales proceeds from the Bungie Store to the ALS Association, up until the date of Destiny‘s release, September 9th.
