The last few days were huge for the MGS community as a lot of new information was released regarding the new Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Hideo Kojima was generous enough and revealed the release dates, the digital prices, new box art and even two new trailers of the game, including a 15 minute playthrough video of a nightplay mission.
The first shorter trailer of MGS V Ground Zeroes shows a mission called Jamais Vu. In it, the player takes control of Raiden to eliminate the “Snatchers” in camp Omega. The Body Snatchers are bioroids that are killing US marines and taking their identities. As Raiden is a ‘man made into a war machine with no human body to snatch’ this is the perfect mission for him.

The second video features the night mission gameplay, where the player has to use incredible stealth to succeed. The objective in the mission that is played is to infiltrate camp Omega and extract a POW, but as it turns out, at the end of the video, Big Boss has rescued the wrong person. The Co-Producer of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Sean Eyestone explains that this was a side mission and that there will be a lot of additional objectives and side stories in the game bringing further excitement and additional rewards and bonuses.

Another new information regarding MGS V Ground Zeroes is the newly released box art for Europe and North America. As Kazuhira “Kaz” Miller is considered to be an unpopular character for the series, because MGS Piece Walker was not so successful in the west, he was removed from the box art. The reason for the change in the box art may seem a bit exaggerated, but it is what Konami Digital Entertainment Europe and Hideo Kojima have decided.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be released on March 18th 2014 in Japan and North America. The game will hit Europe two days after, on March 20th. Also, the game’s digital copy will come at a price of $19.99 for the older gen and $29.99 for the next gen consoles.
This is not the first time trailers or playthroughs are released regarding Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. It looks like Kojima want to keep the fans enthusiastic until the release of the game. What do you think? Are you excited about the new MGS V?
