We know that the Sims 4 is coming, and we know that it will be coming soon. EA promises that the fall release date remains unchanged. We’ve even seen hints at upcoming, paid DLCs for the game. It’s unclear how many DLCs Sims 4 will receive, but they are already in the works. With E3 2014 approaching, we’re confident more light will be shed soon.
With the great anticipation of EA’s Sims 4 release, there have been many rumors circulating about Sims 4 recently. Notably, it seems that EA’s game will have a huge number of DLCs put up for purchase. In fact, the game is said to have a yearly subscription for those who wish to have premium access to everything, something that’s fairly rare with non-MMORPG titles. Despite this, interest for the EA and Maxis co-developed game doesn’t seem to be diminishing. Sims 4 has been confirmed to show up at E3 2014, so we’ll see a lot more then.
Sims 4 is one of the most anticipated games of 2014 and EA have kept quiet about the release date thus far, but what we do know is that the game is still scheduled to release in Fall of this year. If you’ve been worried about the lack of Sims 4-related announcements from EA, you need not worry, as the game’s release date isn’t going to get pushed back. It seems the Sims 4 will still be launching in Fall 2014, and while we still don’t have an exact date, we have official confirmation that the game is still coming. Recent Twitter activity from EA and Maxis members have confirmed that Sims 4 isn’t going to be seeing delays, a fact understandable, considering EA’s goal of exploiting the holiday gifting season for sales this year.
@FallenEvArmy No worries. The Sims 4 will release in Fall 2014, the same release window we've shared for some time now.

The last time we’ve heard something about Sims 4 was at GDC 2014, where the developers of the game explained how AI has been improved for the next Sims game. Maxis developers went to great lengths to explain that Sims will now be able to multitask in Sims 4, and that these changes will provide players with a much more immersive experience. Sims 4 has been eagerly anticipated by Sims fans, as Sims 3 was somewhat of a let-down. All signs would suggest we’re really getting a better title this year, although it’s unclear what exactly we should expect. The most notable changes will be coming in the terms of gameplay, activities, user interface changes and some visual upgrades, although don’t expect Sims 4 to look revolutionary.
Still, visual changes are coming, and it seems that Ambient Occlusion will be tuned up considerably for Sims 4. “Ambient occlusion is used to determine how an object on screen will react to light to realistically brighten the object and cast shadows on the object itself based on where the light is hitting it.” explained a recent SimsVIP post, reassuring fans that the game will indeed look better and feel more vibrant and realistic.
