Currently available as a free download for PS Plus Subscribers, the GOTY 2013 nominee Don’t Starve has more than one million players, developers Klei Entertainment officials say.
After the announcement of the new Don’t Starve: Reign of Giants DLC, Klei’s community manager Corey Rollins stated in an interview with Edge that the game had “over one million” players at the end of 2013. He noted that with the ongoing PS Plus promotions many new players have also tried it and “really enjoyed it.”
Rollins also noted that they are “investigating a proper Vita version of Don’t Starve,” but aren’t certain yet. Mobile version of the game are also something the developers are “investigating,” but is not in front of their “development priorities” at the moment.
Official release date for Don’t Starve: Reign of Giants DLC hasn’t been officially released, but the recently revealed video teaser suggest Autumn 2014 as some fans speculate that the DLC will be released as soon as August, 2014.
