Dragon Age: Inquisition Will be BioWare’s Most Customizable Game Ever

BioWare producer Cameron Lee has told X-One that Dragon Age: Inquisition will be the most customizable game in the studio’s history. The developer has long prided itself on giving players a wide range of options including protagonist background and appearance but Lee says that this time they’re taking player choice to a whole new level. “Inquisition gives players more customization than any Dragon Age game we’ve ever done,” Lee said. “In fact it’s the most customizable game ever created by BioWare.”

Some fans complained that Dragon Age 2, which restricted players to either a male or female human character called Hawke, didn’t offer enough choice and so the studio has decided to offer a much wider range of options this time round.

“Along with choosing race, gender, class and specialization you have more freedom to pick the types of weapons and armour your hero and party members take into battle as well as their abilities and stats,” Lee continued. “Additionally in Inquisition you can craft, modify, and enchant your own weapons and armour, this includes choosing from a large number of materials and colours so you can make your characters look exactly how you want.”

Inquisition players will be able to select male and female human, elf, dwarf, and, for the first time in the series, qunari protagonists. Another element of Dragon Age 2 which was criticised, the lack of options for modifying your companions, is also being addressed. Lee explained, “Companions are just as customizable as your character with the exception of their face and body.”

BioWare has previously announced Dragon Age: Keep, now in closed beta, which will allow players to tailor their Inquisition experience by going through and modifying the choices made in the past two games. Dragon Age: Inquisition launches on October 7th for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
