After spending a little while being delayed, Dragon Age Keep, the web-based companion app for the forthcoming third addition to the Dragon Age series, Dragon Age: Inquisition, is now available to all in the form of an Open Beta, as announced by BioWare in a press release.
For those who don’t know, Dragon Age Keep essentially does the same job as the interactive mini-stories for Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, where you would go through a series of events and make crucial decisions to help shape the your experience in the Mass Effect games. If you wanted A to happen in your story instead of B, choosing A will influence the outcome of C, which will affect your experience in some way.
By recreating choices featured in Dragon Age and Dragon Age II, Dragon Age Keep allows you to change the story of Dragon Age: Inquisition to your preference; the app itself is touted to provide you with an opportunity to discover and shape the legacy, heroes and world around your own personal experience with the third Dragon Age game, according to the press release – you’ll be able to shape the preliminary story before the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition.
“The story of Dragon Age is truly immense and filled with rich characters, beautiful and deadly locales and incredible events which have shaped the world players will experience in Dragon Age: Inquisition,” said BioWare’s general manager of its Edmonton and Montreal studios, Aaryn Flynn. “Dragon Age Keep is an opportunity for players who are both new to the franchise and those who have played past games to forge the key moments in the lore, creating a personalised and customised experience when Inquisition launches on November 21.”
You can sign up for Dragon Age Keep’s Open Beta by visiting its official website, where you’ll have to login with an Origin account. Below is a trailer for Dragon Age Keep that explains what it does.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is slated to release on Tuesday, November 18th in North America, Thursday, November 20th in Australia and Friday, November 21st in Europe for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. We’ll bring you more news on the game should further information reach our ears.
