Dragon Age: Origins, the excellent action-RPG that put BioWare on the map, is now free on Origin, but only until October 14th. The game normally will set you back $14.99, and as it is one of my favourite RPGs to date, getting it for free is a deal that’s hard to pass up.
The game allows you to play as and interact with a number of memorable characters, and even romance some of them, as you explore a massive world and take on numerous quests while pursuingĀ a great evil. The only downside is that you have to use the travesty that is Origin. Here’s the description of the game direct from the website:
The survival of humanity rests in the hands of those chosen by fate. You are a Grey Warden, one of the last of an ancient order of guardians who have defended the lands throughout the centuries. Betrayed by a trusted general in a critical battle, you must hunt down the traitor and bring him to justice.
As you fight your way towards the final confrontation with an evil nemesis, you will face monstrous foes and engage in epic quests to unite the disparate peoples of a world at war.
