If you’re into eSports in general, you’re probably no stranger to Dreamhack, a circuit series that travels the globe and brings together some of the best gamers out there in various tournaments with impressive prize-pools. The first of many to come this year, Dreamhack Bucharest 2014 will be starting at the end of this month, and will be held, as the name suggest, in Bucharest, between the 26th and 27th of April. If you’re unfamiliar with the event, you should know that the biggest games in eSports are present at Dreamhack, and this year will be no different.

The event taking place in Bucharest will be bringing Dota 2, League of Legends, Starcraft 2 and CS: GO. There are some new entries this year, with Blizzard’s Hearthstone attending, as well as FIFA 14. Dreamhack Bucharest is among the biggest eSports events in Europe (especially the Eastern side), and as such, multiple big names will be attending. Some of the best Starcraft 2 players in the world will be battling it out for a $25.000 prize pool, with the 1st place nabbing $10.000. There are 96 players registered at the moment, and only 16 of these will be battling it out in single-bracket elimination, with best out of 3 rules applying with the exception of the final, which will be a best out of 5 match-up.

A special event is being held for female League of Legends players too, so if you’ve been dreaming about staring at 10 chicks taking it out on each other on Summoner’s Rift, now’s your chance. The well-known DOTA 2 team ‘Team Empire’ will be attending too, as well as multiple well-known European League of Legends players. Which is no surprise, given that the guys and girls from Riot Games will be present too. 1v1 DOTA 2 and League of Legends tournaments will take place, so if you feel like settling a score with some friends, now’s your chance.

The event doesn’t revolve around eSports alone though. Dreamhack Bucharest will also host a massive cosplay competition, and will showcase some exclusive tech too. It has been confirmed that Valve will be present, bringing the newest versions of their Steam Machines and Steam Controllers with them. Overall, it sounds like it will be a hell of a weekend for gaming enthusiasts and eSports fans. Many of the events and games will be streamed obviously, so if you can’t make it down in person, make sure to tune in for some action from your favorite games.

Last, but not least, if you’re able to attend, tickets can be picked up from Computer Games’ website. In addition, you can visit the official Dreamhack Bucharest 2014 website to take a look at all the names attending and the upcoming events. It’s worth noting that Computer Games, the main organizer of the event has proven itself with last year’s Dreamhack, and showed exceptional organizational skills. Thus, we’re sure to be seeing a major and successful event at this year’s Dreamhack too. We’ll be on-scene to bring you the latest exclusives from the event, so make sure to stay tuned!
