When it comes to mobile devices you can only choose one operating system. There’s just so much storage space on these devices after all. This limitation means you cannot have a dual-boot system like what you can do on larger devices like laptops.
That is about to change though. Asus and Micromax are both coming out with tablets that can potentially run two operating systems.
Micromax will be releasing the Lap Tab soon. The 10-inch tab is powered by a dual-core 1.4GHz Intel Celeron processor. It would also have 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. If this would be made into a dual-boot machine though, that 32GB storage seems a tad low.
Asus on the other hand has the Transformer Book Duet TD300. Like the Lab Tab, it can be made into a dual-boot system. This laptop-tablet hybrid is big with a 13.3-inch screen. It has an i7 processor matched with 4GB of RAM. There are two storage options for this product. Buyers can opt for a 128GB solid state drive (SSD) or a 1TB hard drive.
Time will tell how this experiment would work out for both companies. But how about you? Would you be interested in a tablet that has dual-boot capacity? Let us know in the comments section below.
