EA Secures Rights To Titanfall 2, Based On Success Of Original

by GH Staff

A source informed Gamespot that EA has secured the rights to Titanfall 2, claiming that it was based on the performance of the original game. Metrics for the success of Titanfall’s sales are currently unavailable but we do know that the sales of Xbox One have doubled since the release of the game. Gamespot states that the terms of EA’s agreement to publish Titanfall 2 are unclear, so it isn’t yet known if it will be arriving on PS4 or Wii U. However, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said that he is “sure” that Titanfall sequels could come to PlayStation. An insider claimed that EA actually regretted the exclusivity of the original game in retrospect.

It is also unconfirmed if the sequel will be on Xbox 360 like the original. We found out today that the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall has been delayed by EA, in order to give Bluepoint Games ‘more time’. From this news, we can tell that the original Titanfall has performed well enough to warrant a sequel and this is also without the sales of the Xbox 360 version which is yet to release. Titanfall will be receiving future DLC which you can obtain either individually or through the Season Pass. However, Respawn Entertainment has not explicitly informed us as to what the DLC will contain, but it may include alien monsters.
