Elder Scrolls Online Console Port Delayed

Fans of ZeniMax’s The Elder Scrolls Online will be waiting a little longer for the title to hit next-generation consoles.

The expansive MMO, originally scheduled to be released on Xbox One and PS4 in June of 2014, will now not be coming to the new platforms until sometime in 2015.

The PC version was released in April to painfully mixed reviews, and now ZeniMax game director Matt Firor has shed some light on the anticipated and beleaguered console release in a blog post on the game’s official website.

“We have been (and will continue to be) steadily working on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of ESO,” Firor said.

“They are playable and fun right now, but there’s still some work to do before we can set an official launch date.

“It’s also important to note that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of ESO are not just ports of the PC/Mac game. We have completely replaced the PC user interface with a console-specific UI designed from the ground-up with a controller and a living room play experience in mind. We’ve also added voice chat and full integration with XBL and PSN.”

Firor culminated with saying that news on the game’s release date as well as additional features is expected during early 2015.
