Electronic Arts Crisis – Third wave of studio leaders leave in a week

by GH Staff

The company that won two years in a row the award for Worst Company in America’s History, Electronic Arts, may be experiencing a crisis. Although an official statement hasn’t been made, EA seems to have some internal problems with the studios owned by the company as this week a third wave of studio leaders is leaving.

A week ago Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry, leaders of EA-owned Criterion Games left the studio due to personal reasons, later explaining in twitter that they wanted to own their own company.

A few days later, executives of another EA-owned studio – PopCap followed the example of Criterion Games creators and left their studio as well.

Today it was officially confirmed that the third wave of studio leaders left. The founders of Chillingo, a EA-Owned studio responsible for multiple mobile games including the original Angry Birds and Cut The Rope, Chris Byatte and Joe Wee have resigned.

It is yet uncertain how their departure will affect Chillingo as Electronic Arts have not yet made any official comment regarding the matter.

What do you think the main reason is? What do you believe will happen to EA this year? Will they receive another reward for being the worst company in America?
