Epic Games Wings Second Emmy Award

Epic Games today accepted an Emmy Award for its unreal engineering talent. Namely, the international gaming giant has been awarded an Engineering Emmy at the 72nd edition of the famous awards due to its various technical achievements made possible by the latest version of the Unreal Engine, as well as all previous ones.

This is actually Epic’s second such Emmy; it secured its first such highest honor back in 2018, albeit from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Whereas today’s achievement has been voted as deserving of accolades by actual pro engineers working in the entertainment industry… that last part sounded like a passive-aggressive insult but it genuinely wasn’t.

Anyway, Epic’s Unreal Engine is just getting started with making history, seeing how even its creators, themvelves, haven’t properly started transitioning their projects to the very latest generation of the said graphical creation tools, also known as Unreal Engine 5.. We are, of course, primarily referring to Fortnite here, but let it be known that Unreal Engine has been generating tremendous momentum across a number of fields since the turn of the century.

Most recently, it even established a foothold as part of in-vehicle dashboard solutions, having been used for creating content for a connected car HUD inside the GMC Humme EV. So, it’s only a matter of time before it breaks into vehicle brands real people with real jobs are buying in the 21st century.
