In a recent AMAA session in Reddit, the president of Sony Online Entertainment decided to share some insides regarding their new MMO All Access plan, the closure of four of their MMO titles as well as the future release of EverQuest Next and PlanetSide 2 on the PlayStation 4.
EverQuest Next was announced back in August 2013, as the company said they will be focusing on the PC version of the MMO and commented that they do not “adverse to the idea” of a PS 4 release. However, Smedley officially stated in Reddit that the company is “shooting for it” this year. He added that although it takes time, the PlayStation 4 MMO is “coming along great.”
As he was also asked about the release of PlanetSide 2, John Smedley stated that the PlayStation 4 MMO version will be released the first half of 2014.
In addition, he commented the fact that they are working together with Valve on the release of “some Steam Wallet, subscription stuff” and that SOE MMO players will soon be able to pay for their subscriptions via PayPal.
