At PAX Prime 2014, 2K Games announced that Turtle Rock Studio’s highly anticipated cooperative first-person shooter, Evolve, will implement a second closed alpha test sometime soon.

Gamers present at PAX who participate in a round of Evolve at 2K’s booth this weekend will have the first opportunity to receive an invitation to register for a shot at access to the closed Evolve alpha test.

Second Round of Evolve‘s Closed Alpha Coming Soon

If you have no idea what Evolve is, it is an asymmetrical 4 vs. 1 cooperative first-person shooter. If you want to see the game in action, you can watch a gameplay video below:

For players that desire to participate in the second round of the closed alpha, but aren’t able to be in attendance at PAX Prime 2014, 2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios have stated that they will be distributing keys and invitations through social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

Additionally, gamers who tend to browse both 2K’s and Turtle Rock’s official forums will also have a chance to receive keys to the next Evolve alpha. So prospective Evolve alpha testers should be wary of the various online locations that both publisher and developer tend to frequent.

Evolve

According to Destructoid, 2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios have named the upcoming test “The Big Alpha.” Unfortunately, there isn’t an official date for the next Evolve alpha.

Early speculation says that it may go live sometime in December or January. If that is true, the second alpha test will coincide with the Xbox One exclusive Evolve beta set to release in January.

Evolve was originally slated to release this October for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, however its release date has been pushed back to February 10th, 2015.
