Fallout Day 2026 begins today, October 19, and Bethesda is running the franchise’s annual celebration across five days instead of a single live broadcast. The official Fallout social channels will post new content every day through Friday, October 23, spanning community spotlights, Wasteland giveaways, updates for existing games, and a first look at the Fallout 76 World Pets update.
The plan comes from the official Bethesda Game Studios account on X, which described this year’s event as “a little different.” The studio confirmed there will be no live broadcast and promised something new each day across its social channels, including “the community, rad partnerships, existing Fallout titles, and a first look at the Fallout 76 World Pets update.” The full Fallout Day announcement on X lays out the five-day schedule.
Today’s opening day covers community spotlights and Wasteland giveaways. Thursday, October 22, is the one day with a confirmed content reveal, when Bethesda plans to show the World Pets update for Fallout 76 for the first time.
No live broadcast this year
In recent years Fallout Day centered on a live Fallout Day Broadcast that gathered announcements, music, and merchandise reveals into a single stream. That broadcast is gone this year. A live show sets one fixed deadline where everything must be ready. Spreading the posts across a week lets Bethesda ship only what is finished each day.
The change also reshapes how fans follow the event. A broadcast gives one hour to tune in and a clear list of what was announced. Checking five days of social posts costs more time, and some days may carry little beyond giveaways and spotlights.
The five-day schedule
Bethesda assigned a theme to each day of the week. The confirmed order is below.
| Date | Theme | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| October 19 | Community | Community spotlights and Wasteland giveaways |
| October 20 | Fallout Shelter and Fallout 4 | Fallout Shelter updates and a focus on Fallout 4 Creations |
| October 21 | Partnerships | Collaborations and out-of-game experiences |
| October 22 | Fallout 76 | First look at the World Pets update |
| October 23 | Fallout Day | A day for all fans to celebrate the franchise |
The week closes on October 23, the date Fallout lore marks the Great War, and the day the franchise has used for its annual Fallout Day celebration. Each theme maps to a different audience. Tuesday covers Fallout Shelter and Fallout 4, Thursday covers Fallout 76, and the remaining days cover the broader fanbase.
World Pets is the date to mark
Thursday is the only day with a confirmed content reveal. Bethesda has not said what the World Pets update includes beyond its name, though the title points to creatures players can keep at their camps. Fallout 76 is in its current Slasher season, which GamerHeadlines covered in a Fallout 76 Slasher update guide. A first look at World Pets signals what comes after that season and gives the Fallout 76 community its next concrete content beat to plan around.
What is not on the schedule
Bethesda has not confirmed a major announcement to close the week. The studio has previously confirmed that Fallout 5, remasters, and a new Obsidian Fallout game are in development, as covered in GamerHeadlines’ report on Fallout 5 and the Obsidian project, but none of those projects appear on this year’s Fallout Day calendar.
What remains unknown
Bethesda has not detailed every reveal, and the daily themes leave room for interpretation. The Fallout Shelter updates could be new content or events, and the World Pets first look may or may not come with a release date. It is also unclear whether Friday’s Fallout Day closes with any new announcement.
