After six years of development, Totem Arts is finally ready to release their fan-created follow-up of the 2002 title Command & Conquer: Renegade. The developers announced the official release date for the game back in November 2013 to be February 26th, 2014. As the date is getting closer, the developers of Renegade X has released a new trailer.
Revealing more info about the game, Totem Arts put emphasis on the fact that the game will be completely free to play and won’t feature any pay-to-win microtransactions or subscriptions. Choosing between the infamous for Command & Conquer fans Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of NOD, players will be able to enjoy the fast paced multiplayer that seems to be a unique combination of a tactical shooter and a real-time strategy with some arcade elements.
The game was firstly developed as a mod for Unreal Tournament, but the project was scrapped out in order to be replaced with a stand alone game. Being both single and multi-player game, Renegade X has a short 1-2 hour single-player demo of theĀ that was released back in 2012 and can be freely downloaded called Renegade X: Black Dawn.
The official release date for Command & Conquer: Renegade X is February 26th, 2014.
