Features Assessment for Blackberry Passport and Apple iPhone 6

by GH Staff

The two mobile phones have not been in the market for a long period having been officially released last month. Their features are very unique from the other starting with the OS which is very distinct. The two devices have been keen to outdo each other through their exceptional features that will be discussed here side-by-side for you to be the judge.

Design and display

This is where the main differences come out clearly. BlackBerry seems to be odd when it comes to design since its screen has a square shape plus QWERTY controls that sit just under the screen. Its frame is constructed using stainless steel material while the 4.5inches LCD screen has a resolution to the region of 1440x1440pixels. On its part, iPhone 6 has its body made of aluminum material while the screen is of a glass material that is resistant to breaking easily. In terms of size and shape, this phone is slimmer than the blackberry with a width of 67mm but it’s taller in size. The fingerprint sensitive screen comes with a resolution of 750x1334pixels and a LED display.

OS and hardware

Blackberry has the best performance for the hardware thanks to its powerful processor that measures 2.26GHz Krait. The memory of this mobile device is built-in and its capacity is 32GB with the flexibility of expanding the same to even 128GB. For the iPhone 6, it has a weaker performance for the hardware at 1.4GHz even though the mother company has put a brave face insisting that is its best. Its RAM capacity stands at 1GB but you will have other storage alternatives to explore rising up to 128GB. You cannot use a microSD card with this phone because it’s not supported and even lacks the slot for that. It has experienced some issues to do with bugs but Apple has made a few updates to deal with that.

Cameras

This is one of the most important features that modern mobile devices come with. The BlackBerry Passport has its camera on the back side measuring 13MP. This is a huge improvement from the earlier models that had extremely weak cameras. The camera has proven stabilization for images, it can focus automatically, there is the LED flash and can easily detect face of the subject. There is also a camera located on the front side which can only shoot videos at a speed of 720P which is way below the rear camera that goes up to 1080p.

The iPhone 6 has a rear camera but its power stands at 8MP. You can only underestimate its ability to shoot quality images at your own peril. Its face detection is automatic while the LED flashes are two which says a lot about the capacity of iPhone 6. The sensory size of this mobile phone is 1/3” with all these features making the camera good enough to capture high quality images.

With that detailed comparison, you should be able to make an informed choice on which one between Blackberry Passport and Apple iPhone 6 suits your purchase.
