Features of Google Chrome You Need to Know

Google Chrome

With the first version of Google Chrome released in 02/09/2008 it quickly became one of the more popular web browsers available, competing with such giants of the industry as Mozilla’s Firefox and Opera (I’m not even going to talk about the Internet Explorer here). However, despite of its growing popularity, many of its users still do not use all of its available features (including, but not limited to extensions). Many people do not seem to realize that using these extensions can help them increase their effectiveness and productivity. In order to remedy that, I’ve prepared a short list of Chrome’s extensions and other features that are aimed at making your life (as a user) much easier.

Reasons for using Google Chrome:

This particular web browser is considered to be the best by many people. It includes everything you want out of a browser: it is easy to use and provides a good user experience; it is very secure and has a very high loading speed. If you go to the Chrome App store (yes, such a thing does exist) you may find all of the basic, yet essential apps (both free and paid versions). Some of these apps include:

Gmail offline mode

Even if you are a veteran Gmail user, I bet you did not know that such a feature existed. This email service is one the most popular in the world, used both for professional and personal business. Besides communicating, you can use it to store various data, such as your data, conversations, etc. Using an offline add-on, you can now view this information at any time. The way it is done is by storing your emails and contacts directly in your PC’s memory. You can even prepare a response for a particular letter and it will be automatically sent to the user once you go online.

Might Text

This one is a relatively new extension. What it does is it allows the user to send SMS or MMS with the help of your computer. You will need to sync your mobile phone to your PC in order to do that, though. Once you do, it will store such SMS as a copy in your phone, so you can view it later.

Pocket Extension

This application is very good for those of you who like to read various articles online. The way it does it is by saving the text in offline mode. Once saved, the text is synced to your Google account, which allows you to view it on the variety of mobile devices.

Adblock Plus

Okay, maybe you aware of this particular extension. In case you are not, this is a very good method to block those annoying ads on Youtube and other sites. It also blocks banners, pop-ups and other unwelcomed promotional pieces that you will encounter almost anywhere on the internet nowadays.

There are many other add-ons and features available for your Google Chrome that will make it an even better browser for you. Take a look at the App store and see what else is available.
