Square Enix announced today that Final Fantasy V is now available for download off the Amazon App Store. Much like its pricing on the Google Play store, Final Fantasy V will be set at the price of $15.99.
Final Fantasy V was initially released in Japan in 1992 on Nintendo’s Super Famicom (now known internationally as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System) as the fifth installment in the evergrowing popular Final Fantasy series. From there, the game was later ported to the Playstation and Gameboy Advance with minor differences. Making history as the first game in the franchise to sell over two million copies, it has now been reworked so players can enjoy the wildly popular RPG that captivated so many, on touch screen devices. The game brought a variety of new features to the Final Fantasy franchise, such as improving the job and ability system from Final Fantasy III giving players more freedom when customizing their characters. The game also featured more detailed and expressive 2D character models, allowing players to further their imagination and become more immersed in the Final Fantasy story.
A game being so popular that it’s set franchise records, spawned multiple ports and even had its own follow-up anime, it’s no wonder Square Enix has re-released it for mobile devices and because of that, people can now take the groundbreaking Final Fantasy V with them wherever they go.
