The PC version of Final Fantasy XIII will be receiving an upcoming patch that will unlock previous restrictions placed on changing the resolution in the JRPG.
According to a post on the Steam Community board by Rossi Ivanova, digital coordinator at Square Enix, Final Fantasy XIII users will be able to select a 720p or 1080p option when the patch is released on December 11th.
“As mentioned recently, the FINAL FANTASY XIII team have been working hard to improve your experience on Steam and we’re happy to announce that custom resolutions (720p, 1080p…) and graphic options will be added to the game from December 11th 2014,” Ivanova wrote.
Publisher Square Enix had confirmed last month that the second installment in the XIII trilogy, Final Fantasy XIII-2, would launch on December 11th for PC, with the title being priced at $19.99 on Steam.
Meanwhile, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is expected to release on PC in 2015, and Square is yet to announce an official date or price for the final title in Lightning’s story.
