Sony have announced the racing wheels that will be compatible with their upcoming racing game DriveClub on release. The launch of DriveClub is now imminent, with the game due out next week for PlayStation 4. The following three racing wheels will be available for use with DriveClub when the game launches:
- Thrustmaster T80
- Thrustmaster T800RS
- Thrustmaster T500
This does not seem to be a great deal for consumers, as the Thrustmaster brand will have a complete monopoly on racing wheels for DriveClub at least initially. This means that owners of racing wheels from other brands such as Logitech will be left waiting for their wheel to become compatible with the PS4. DriveClub developer Evolution Studios have however stated that they hope to support more hardware in the future.
What do you think of this news? Is it bad for consumers that only three racing wheels will be supported at DriveClub’s launch? Or don’t you use racing wheels anyway?
