First-Person Mode Confirmed for GTA V on Next-Gen and PC

GTA V First Person Mode Confirmed

We’ve all heard the rumors about first-person mode coming to GTA V, and mods have shown us what this would look like, but I am happy to confirm that GTA V will have first-person modes on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. That means that you can drive around Los Santos from the eyes of our three criminal badasses.

The news was announced today by Rockstar via IGN, where they showed a truly amazing trailer  showcasing the game’s new perspective. The trailer shows most of the things we have come to expect from the Grand Theft Auto, some guns, a lot of driving and some pretty cool shots of the characters using their phones.

GTA V FIrst Person Confirmed

The gunplay has been fine-tuned to look epic in first-person

The first-person gameplay from the trailer looks fantastic. The new perspective may sound like a sort of afterthought to many, but I can assure you that it isn’t. This is not simply a camera slapped onto the character’s faces, but everything has been re-worked to function with both first-person and third-person modes, which you can switch on the fly with the in-game camera options. New animations, like the characters using their phones, look very well done, and specifically, the phone is no longer an overlay when in first-person.

The gunplay looks smooth and I feel that the first-person perspective, in addition to complete iron sights, will vastly improve combat scenarios. Overall, the whole game in first-person appears more dangerous, more high-stakes and very much like an action movie.

I can not stress enough how good this looks for a game that is traditionally a third-person series, or how good it looks compared to any game of the genre really. The characters have first-person specific animations when idle, each car has received a unique, dashboard and the trailer shows off a free-look option. I love free-look.

So what do you guys think of GTA V in first person? Frankly, I am ecstatic. Be sure to leave your comments below, and be sure to follow the Gamer Headlines for all your latest video game news!
