Turn 10 Studios has added the 1998 Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R to Forza Horizon 5 as the current Festival Playlist reward car. In a Steam news post authored by T10_Artie on October 15, 2026, the studio confirmed the car is available to unlock from October 15 until October 22. Players who reach 20 points in the seasonal playlist receive the FTO, and players who reach 40 points receive a Backstage Pass.

The FTO GP Version R is the performance-focused version of the Mitsubishi FTO. Its 2.0-liter V6 uses MIVEC technology to optimize performance and responsiveness. Mitsubishi added a limited-slip differential and sport-tuned suspension to the handling package. The car also arrives with a new body kit that Turn 10 Studios describes as a major aerodynamic improvement, plus Version R decals in the panels and rear wing. It follows last week’s playlist, which added the 1997 Toyota Soarer 2.5 GT-T as the reward car.

How to unlock the Mitsubishi FTO and series rewards

Seasonal playlist points come from weekly events, PR stunts, championships, and challenges. The current reward structure has two seasonal thresholds and two series thresholds. The FTO unlocks at 20 seasonal points. A Backstage Pass unlocks at 40 seasonal points. The series reward cars are the 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E at 80 points and the 1992 GMC Typhoon at 160 points.

Point total Reward
20 PTS (seasonal) 1998 Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R
40 PTS (seasonal) Backstage Pass
80 PTS (series) 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E

Once the FTO is in your garage, the included customization parts allow changes without additional unlock steps. Forza and Bozz Speed body parts include 2 front bumpers, 2 rear wings, and a wing removal option.
